"Greetings Dear Sister, I have been enjoying the Colorado High Country this
past Summer as you know.  I don't mind telling you that I have not missed the
Arkansas heat..."

So began a letter found with a number of never before seen photos taken by Derrell's Great Great Uncle Benjamin "Bender" English.
During the Summer of 1909 he apparently spent several weeks in the South Park area and generated
among his views some of the rarest photos ever taken of the C&S.  We hope you enjoy the collection.

This location labeled "Bath Colorado" was at the top of Trout Creek Pass.  Bath was little more than a turning station for both the C&S and The Colorado Midland.  In this view a Wrangler appears to be moving a few cow ponies along a road that crossed The C&S tracks.  In the background are a few railroad structures and an unidentified locomotive shuffling along the wye track.

Uncle Bender caught #69 light on The Longs Creek Loop a few miles east of the pass.  Early photos of 69 are less than common - even RARE.  Note the original steam dome.
